If the hardware is not being recognized, you will want to check that the USB cable to the board is secure.
To update the driver, you will need to disconnect all Promethean hardware from the computer
Uninstall the current driver, on Windows via Add/Remove Programs or Programs/ Uninstall (depending what version you have) on MAC > select Applications/ Promethean/ ActivDriver/ Uninstall
Once the ActivDriver is removed, you will need to restart the computer.
Once restarted, Save/ Run/ Install the proper driver from the Planet link below:
www.prometheanplanet.com/.../ProductPage.aspx
to the right of the page, you will see an option for Software and Drivers.
Once the driver is installed, you can reconnect all Promethean hardware.(case# 239138)
