Hi Graham,
You could try running the Microsoft Fix it below, then uninstall and reinstall ActivInspire. Please disable any antivirus you have before doing this and make sure you have full admin rights.
support.microsoft.com/.../Program_Install_and_Uninstall
You could also try logging in as a brand new local user and see if this resolves the issue.
