Which version of Java is best suited for a Windows 7 64bit environment when running Activinspire 2.0?

I have an ActivBoard installed in my district that no longer appears to have electricity to the ActivBoard electronics portion of the board. The amplifier has power and the cable between the amplifier and the electronics portion is connected. I have also confirmed the connectivity of all USB cables on the back of the board. The flame, however, will not light and consequently the board can not be calibrated. The board can be controlled via the computer using the ActivInspire interface.
Any assistance in this matter would be appreciated. Thank you!
Good afternoon,
I am trying to disable updates for ActivInspire. The existing installers I have do not seem to have the "astransgen" utility so I cannot create the admin.ini file this way.
I have downloaded the admin.ini blank example file but I do not know what to put in for Key 11. Can anyone advise or post their (redacted, if you prefer) admin.ini file so I can identify how to disable updates? Thanks in advance.
Kind regards
Adam,
Thanks for your suggestions, but I have tried them already with no luck. I am using mirrored display. No matter what my settings are for extended display it does not seem to work. Yes, the projector was on when I was changing display settings.
My projector model is: PRM-30.
Any other suggestions? Thank you!
Hi Adam,
I currently have the latest version, professional edition 1.8.64868. It stopped working with the last two updates I think. It used to work fine. Basically it stays like in the picture, trying to upload. But in old flipcharts that I created in other versions, the videos I embedded, they work ok. Weird!
Thanks for your help.
Inspire says I need Java 6 to run the software on my mac? Inspire won't even open anymore. There are many teachers having the same problem at my site. Please help.
I have registered 3 Activotes and they show up as registered, but when I try to use them I get a message that says no devices are registered.
Any suggestions?
Here is the registration screen:

I am having the same issue with ours here at the school. Just wanted to know if we got an answer for this problem?
I'm going to be reinstalling Windows on my work machine soon, but I don't have the original install files for ActiveInspire. Because I can't be without it, I decided to see if I could just use the new 2.0 install file and then take the username/org/serial info and input that into the program. It didn't work. The OK button never let me click it. I could only click 'Personal', 'Buy Now', or 'Trial'. Is this because the software I was using was v1.8 and the serial only works on that? If so, how can I get the v1.8 install files? I've tried via the legacy downloads page, but it only seems to download v2.0.
Hi Vickie.
Thanks for posting on the forum.
I have received your email and will respond via email.
Thank you.

Hi!
I'm running activinspire V 2.0.65384 on my macbook pro OS Mavericks 10.9.3; activdriver V 5.10.14 and i'm using an activboard serial C0909150675
Ever since I ve updated Activ Inspire and activdriver the USB cable has not been recognized...
What can I do??
Thx in advance
Hi Jennifer.
Thanks for posting on the forum.
If you are trying to copy and paste the information over from the current name/organisation/serial box, this will not work as the current ActivInspire license number is hidden within the software. This ActivInspire license key will work in ActivInspire 2.0.
To obtain the ActivInspire serial number from your other computer with ActivInspire professional installed, please follow the below steps:
On Windows XP, the file is located in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Promethean\ActivInspire
To view hidden files:
1. Click on Start / All Programs / Accessories / Windows Explorer
2. On the Tools menu in Windows Explorer, click Folder Options
3. Click the View tab
4. Under Hidden Files and Folders, click Show Hidden Files and Folders
On Windows Vista and 7 the file is located in C:\ProgramData\Promethean\ActivInspire.
To view hidden files:
1. Click on Start / Control Panel / Appearance and Personalization / Folder Options
2. Click the View tab
3. Under Advanced, click Show Hidden Files, Folders, and Drives
On Windows 8, the file is located in C:\ProgramData\Promethean\ActivInspire
To view hidden files:
1. Right-click on the lower left of the screen, and select Control Panel
2. Select Folder Options, and click the View tab
3. Under Advanced Settings, click Show Hidden Files, Folders, and Drives
Please make sure you are logged in an account that has permission to view hidden files. If you are unable to view hidden files after trying the above steps, then please contact your IT support team.
Once you have this information, you can use this on your new work machine with ActivInspire 2.0.

and the rest The Hub is connected to my laptop.

To disable touch on your ActivBoard, you can go to your ActivManager Control Panel>Pens Tab> and un-tick the tick box for touch.

Hi Julia
Thanks for posting on the forum.
Please could you advise what model of ActivBoard you are using? This will be usually on the left hand side of your ActivBoard next to your serial number.
Please could you test a direct connection from the back of your ActivBoard to your computer, bypassing any wallboxes or connection plates that you are using. The direct connection will need to be plugged in to the back of the ActivBoard. When testing this, see if the red flame stays the same.
Please could you also advise on the version of ActivManager you have installed? You will have an ActivManager icon on your task bar near your date and time. Please click this and click on Control Panel, the version number can be found on the bottom of the window that appears.
With regard to the image alignment, please could you confirm the model of projector also?
Please remove the VGA cable from the computer, is the image aligned when the projector is on it's splash screen, does this fit the board? If it does, connect your VGA cable and amend your screen resolutions. Please see article 10418 on www.PrometheanKB.com for further help with this.
I look forward to your reply.

Hi Darren.
Thanks for posting on the forum.
So we can advise further, please could you confirm the model number of your projector?
I would recommend testing the below to see if the issue happens:
Does the projector search for sources when another laptop is connected to the projector?
If so, please could you advise if you have any wall boxes or connection panels? If you do, please connect directly into the back of the projector and test a known working cable into your laptop. Does the issue persist?
I have created a Technical Support case to help assist with this issue should you wish to contact us directly, if you do, please quote your reference number which is: 00429269.
I look forward to your reply.
