Thanks for the answer! awesome response time too. now I can configure any others that I run into with this issue. adding the board makes windows think it is a tablet and that's why the OS gets a little confused. ;)

I have a MacBook Pro that runs Snow Leopard. I have been trying to download a math collection but it will not show up in finder as a download and from my download icon on my dock, it only shows a blank sheet. When I double click on the document in my download list from my dock it says that "there is no default application specified to open the document." The document title ends in a .as3a. That is as far as it will let me go so I cannot download it to my computer and then import it.
I even tried to drag it to my Resource Browser but it shows up as a blank icon that will not open or transfer to a flipchart. What am I doing wrong or what do I need to do to be able to successfully download resources from Promethean Plant to ActivInpire?
Sorry to bother... I have figured it out and was able to locate the package in finder, move it to documents, and then import it from documents to ActivInspire.
Actually, to solve that, we just only need using ActivInspire tools.
I can't change my text color very easily. I get the formatting toolbar, but the length of the font window is super long so it has no room for color, line spacing, bullets, etc. It is a pain to hover over and scroll across to get it to drop down on a touchpad.
See how there is nothing for spacing, bullets, or indenting? It is in the drop down, but I would like it pinned... or else I would like to make the font one narrower.

Do you get any error messages or dialogue boxes at all when testing? If so please could you take a screenshot of this?
Please could you clear the temp files for the computer, if you are using Windows 7, this can be done by clicking on your Windows icon, and typing %temp% into the search bar. Please delete the contents of this folder and test again.

Please could you confirm which version of ActivInspire that you are using? Please launch ActivInspire and click on Help>About.
If you are using a version prior to 1.8, please could you update the ActivInspire software by clicking on Help>Check for updates.
Please could you advise which version of MAC you are using and if you have any particularly large names for fonts which is causing this to be larger than normal?

I am completely frustrated by this very common problem I seem to be finding in several schools and now on my own laptop.
I have just done a complete fresh install of ActivInspire and have an empty Shared folder. I was expecting to see grids, backgrounds, templates etc. I have downloaded the resource pack that is available which gives me the Subjects folder but how do I get all the basics?

Where is your AV cable from your xbox going into? What type of ActivBoard and system do you have?
The projector won't produce sound from the unit directly, however do you have an ActivBoard with speakers built in?
If possible, please could you perhaps take a photo of the set up you have?

On your resource browser in ActivInspire, the address that is currently being searched for your Shared resources could be incorrect. Could you advise what this is set to? The default location should be:
C:\Users\username\Documents\Activ Software\ActivInspire\My Resources\My Profiles
If you could set this as the location, do you see all of your shared resources now?

To help assist you with this issue, I have created a Promethean technical support case. Should you wish to contact us directly, please quote your case reference which is: 00395896.
Please could you update your driver version, the latest is 5.9.27 which can be downloaded from here.
We recommend when installing the driver that the USB cable is not connected to the computer/laptop. Once the update has finished you can reconnect your USB cable.
Please could you also try resetting the ActivBoard, to do this, please remove the USB cable and turn the power off to the ActivBoard. Please ensure that if you are using a projector on the same power socket that this is turned off prior and has had sufficient time to cool down. Once turned off, leave for 10 minutes and power back on and reconnect the USB cable. Please re-calibrate the ActivPen after this step has been performed.
If you restart your computer after this step and see if you have no interaction with your ActivPen we may need to upgrade your firmware on the ActivBoard. For this you will need to get in touch with Promethean technical support directly. I will suggest that you update the ActivDriver to the latest edition which is 5.9.27 which you can download from this link www.prometheanplanet.com/.../SearchProductFiles.aspx
Please ensure that you disconnect the USB cable before the update. After the update calibrate the ActivBoard from the Activmanager.
Check the connection of the USB cable and ensure that the flame is white.
Reboot computer and test using a different USB port. Preferably, testing a port that is the furthest distance possible from original port used.
Check Device Manager of your computer for errors in the Human Interface Devices.
Connect the computer directly to the ActivBoard 300's PCA Hub via USB, bypassing any wallboxes/ connectivity and try another computer.
Should the pen still not working check that on the Control panel of the ActivMnager, Pen tab that it is set to Mouse, try another pen that works on another ActivBoard.

Hi Adam,
I ran the "Restore File Associations" but it did not restore the .temp file to a .flipchart. I can save other files as a .flipchart, both those saved locally and on Google Drive. I did copy over all my pages from the .temp flip to a blank one and was able to save that as a .flipchart as well. I tried saving the one that has been converted elsewhere, but I'm not sure if that is what you meant by disassociating Google Drive. Are there other steps to that which I should try? It did not allow me to save as a .flipchart when trying to save elsewhere.
Also, I guess I should clarify...I have a local Google Drive folder on my desktop that syncs with the cloud, so I'm not actually uploading the file each time I save it.
