I am on 1.7 and 5.8.46 and 5.12 Build 5 and 12.01 B02 but I don't that is where the answer lies. I also tested it with ActivEngage and get similar results that ActivInspire interprets the responses as correct rather than incorrect. Below are some screen shots and the actual flipchart I made to illustrate my point. I suspect using the equation question type is not completely implemented yet.
