Hello Tim,
With which model of ActivBoard is the spiking behavior presenting? Kindly confirm the version of firmware on the board and the version of ActivDriver installed on the computer in use with this board.
If the USB connection from the computer to the board uses any extensions, USB/CAT5 boosters, or other hardware, please bypass that hardware and establish a direct connection from the computer to the board using only a single A-to-B USB cable, no more than 10’ in length. Does connecting in this manner improve the interaction at the board?
Also, please try using a different ActivPen with this board (preferably one that works as normal when used with another ActivBoard) and using that pen to operate a different piece of software (e.g. MS Paint); is the same behavior present present at that time?
