To which model of board are you connecting this computer and which version of OS X in used on that computer?
In addition to updating the ActivInspire Software, kindly update the ActivDriver in place on the computer; the file to use in that update can be downloaded from this page on Promethean Planet.
Also, if the USB Connection to the board utilizes any boosters, extensions, or other hardware, please by-pass them in favor of a direct connection from the computer to the electronics on the board using only a single A-to-B USB Cable (similar to what connects a USB Printer or Scanner to a computer), no more than 3-5m in length. Is the connection better recognized by the computer while connected in this manner?
