Hello Celeste,

The A-side (flat) USB ports on the bottom corners of the ActivBoard will not allow the computer to recognize a connection to the ActivBoard; only the B-Side (square) USB port will allow that connection to take place.

If you are experiencing a problem with the connection to the ActivBoard in your classroom, we would ask that you ensure that the latest version of the ActivDriver is installed (downloadable from this page, if needed) and that the connection from the computer to the board is using only a single, direct length of A-to-B USB cable, no more than 3-5m in length.  What is the Product Code of this board in question, which is listed on its side towards the bottom?

Also, is the flame in the upper left corner of the board lit?  If so, what color is that flame?  If using a Windows-based computer, does that computer make any sound or present any message indicating that a device or driver is being installed when the USB cable from the board connects into the computer?
