I installed ActivStudio (Professional Edition version 2.1) for Windows and updated ActivInspire on my new laptop but I cannot get the pen to work. The ActivControl in the taskbar shows 'device not found' both ActivControl and ActivManager in the taskbar do not allow access (grayed) to calibration. I checked all connection and power cables but the problem remained. With the usb and VGA cable both connected, moving the pen on Promethean board area does not result in any motion of the cursor. I tried facing the pen against the Promethean Flame (which turns red only when pen facing it) to get the pen activated, but still no result. I live on the West Coast and by the time my school day is over, the Promethean support office is closed. I have the CD and Serial Number. The laptop I am using is new (Promethean worked fine on the old laptop but this problem happened in the past), so I am not sure if this has to do with the issue. I use my Promethean board daily and for the entire school day but I have not been able to do so for the past three(3) days. Please help, my students' learning is being negatively affected by this issue.
