Hello Daniel,
Trying to update the firmware of the board while the mouse cursor is jumping all over the screen can be tricky. You will want to disable the touch feature in ActivManager, that may stop the cursor from jumping. Not sure where the USB from your computer is connecting, but to perform the firmware upgrade, you want to ensure that the single length USB cable from the computer is connected to the electronics of the board, bypassing any extensions/ boosters, wallbox or connectivity panel.
Once you connect the USB to the electronics of the board, the flame on the top left will begin to flash, while the flame is flashing, go to ActivManager > Control Panel > Pens tab and uncheck the box that allows you to use your finger to operate the board.
Save the firmware file below (preferably in a place that is easily accessible)
Your password is: s8fW7yq6
Name: AC3_V863_Build2 87 ONLY.bin
Size: 195.81 KB
Expires: November 19, 2013
Select ActivManager > Control Panel > Hardware tab > ActivBoard > Upgrade > File > Load
browse to the location where the firmware file was saved and select Open/OK.
Upon confirming your selection, the upgrade process will then begin. Please do not touch the board until the upgrade process has completed, and you are asked to restart your board.
Once you have cycled the power and USB to the board, enable touch in the ActivManager Pens tab.

Hope this helps!
