By following these instructions, you will remove all elements of the ActivInspire application including the licensing information. Therefore you will need to have your ActivInspire license key when reinstalling the application. This must be done prior to removing any of the files below.
In order to obtain your license key, please follow the steps below.
On Windows Vista and 7 the file is located in C:\ProgramData\Promethean\ActivInspire.
To view hidden files:
1. Click on Start / Control Panel / Appearance and Personalization / Folder Options
2. Click the View tab
3. Under Advanced, click Show Hidden Files, Folders, and Drives
Please make sure you are logged in an account that has permission to view hidden files. If you are unable to view hidden files after trying the above steps, then please contact your IT support team.
The following location is based on a standard installation using the default ActivInspire paths).
Go to this location and delete/remove this file if it exists:
Programs > Uninstall > ActivInspire v1
C:\Users\%username%\My Documents\Activ Software\ActivInspire\My Resources\My Profiles (N.B. If you have custom made profiles which you wish to use again, copy and paste these files into a different location before deleting them).
Go to C:\Windows\Temp and delete all of the contents of the temp folder. To do this select Start, type %temp%, and click OK. Select all the content of this folder and delete it. Skip any items that cannot be deleted.
Restart the computer
Once the computer is restarted go to the Planet Support tab > Download ActivInspire > Select your language > Select your operating system and download the software.
