Forum Post: disabling marquee handle functions; drawing a rectangle

Howdy,

First, thanks for your prompt and helpful response to my last inquiry.  I am new to flipcharts, so please forgive me if the following questions are easy to figure out.

1. Kids love to play with the object options on the marquee handles, and these handles often lead to digression.  Is it possible to disable all their functionality except to move?  I see how to do this by setting up a new profile.  I do not see how to do it if you want to embed this limited functionality into a specific flipchart.  I see how to disable properties, but this is tedious if there are many grouped objects, and some of the properties of objects do not appear to lend themselves to being disabled in this manner.

2. I would like to draw a vertical line, group it to a circle below it (so kids can move it by touch), set it on a horizontal path, and allow kids to slide it to the right and dynamically create a colored rectangle of the same (or similar) vertical height as the vertical line but of any length the child desires.  I cannot figure out how to do this with any of the many tools available (including layers).  In effect, I am looking for a way to do something which utterly simple with the handles when an object is selected.  I think I must be missing something obvious.

Thanks for any help,

-p
