After the firmware upgrade, were the power and USB cables cycled? If not, it is required to cycle connections after a firmware upgrade. If so, go into ActivManager and disable touch (uncheck the box), restart the computer, and re enable touch. You also want to ensure that your pen mode is set to Mouse, unless you are using Win 7, Microsoft Touch Pack, then you want to select Enhanced Windows 7 Mode.
