Hi Robin.
This is correct, when ever you see the device registration box empty and not showing your ActivHub, please upgrade the driver and restart ActivInspire.

Afternoon,
Thanks for posting on the forum.
If your ActivManager icon is not appearing on the bottom task bar near your date or time, it may be hidden. You can click on the "Up" arrow icon (Show hidden icons) and see if it is listed here, if not, you can click on customise and see if it is listed under here and select it.
The default location for your ActivManager on a Windows based operating system is: C:\Program Files\Activ Software\ActivDriver. Inside this folder location is an ActivMgr.exe file. Please click on this and this should load your ActivManager.
If this does not appear, I would recommend downloading the latest version (Version 5.10) by going to www.PrometheanKB.com and searching article 10902. Please download and install this.
In order to calibrate your ActivBoard, you will need this ActivManager icon to appear and to show your ActivBoard listed under the ActivManager Control Panel in the 'Hardware' tab.
What model of ActivBoard do you have and what is the current colour of the flame in the top left corner? Does this change if your pen is touching the boards surface?
Please also ensure checking that all of the connections are secure and test another working USB cable.
I have created a support case to help assist with this issue should you wish to get in touch directly.

We have misplaced a remote in our building. Is there any possible way to turn on the projector without the remote? We are using the PRM-35 DLP SHORT PROJECTOR. Any information would greatly be appreciated. Thanks!
I have a new MacBook air and a couple teacher at my school that are have Macbook Pro with Mavericks OS seem to have the same problem.
There appears to be an issue with the Mavericks OS and external displays.
Find a setting that seems to be the most reasonable and stay with that, probably the 1280x720
I will try switching out my Macbook next, Adam. Thanks for the suggestion. I do not have an "info" button on my remote though.
I did try the zoom buttons on the remote though without any luck.
Thanks for the help!
We are running ActivTable Ver 1.3.1 and the system is running extremely slow on the ActivTable (interface) software side. But when we log off and log onto Windows the system is fine, and if we launch the ActivTable while we are within Windows side, the system is fast and working properly. (but it we power on the ActivTable, and it boots into ActivTable, it runs extremely slow).
Also we tried to update to Ver 1.4.1 and it downloads, starts to install, and just sits there spinning for hours, never finishes the update.
What to do, or can we download the software and install ActivTable software direct on the windows side.
Any suggestions.
We are in the final stages of validating ActivInspire with Ubuntu 14.04LTS. We will not be officially supporting the 13.04 interim release.

Simon Hallam
I just would like to say thank you :) I really appreciate your work.

I am having a similar issue with the display size, but usually the F1 key or restarting Inspire will fix the problem. Another problem I am having is after disconnecting from the board, the cursor display has two vertical lines of short dashes under it. I think it has something to with the calibration of the board. If I restart the MacBook Pro, the cursor is fine until I use the board again so I am constantly having to restart or deal with the cursor problem. Has anyone experienced this? Is there a fix?
Besides ActivSlate, is there a way to turn ActivInspire flip chart pages with a remote on a Mac?
I saw a post from 2010, but I was hoping it had been fixed by now.
Thanks!
Hi Kim.
Thanks for posting on the forum.
Could you advise what model of ActivBoard are you using?
You will have an ActivManager icon on your taskbar, please click on this and click on Calibration. Please try and calibrate using this method.
The icon will look like this
If you are still experiencing issues, please could you click on the ActivManager icon and click on Control Panel. When this window appears, at the bottom will be a driver version, please confirm this version.

Hi Katelyn,

Please could you confirm what version you are using on your work and home PC's? Please load ActivInspire and click on Help>About for this information. The latest version is ActivInspire 2.0 which can be downloaded on the Promethean Planet support section.
Is the crashing happening on certain flip charts or any?
When the crashing happens whilst at work, are you editing flip charts created from your home computer and visa versa?
Please ensure that your Java,Flash and Flash for other browsers is installed and up to date.
I look forward to your reply.

Hi Cathy.
Thank you for posting on the forum.
You should be able to reset all your default settings by loading up ActivInspire and clicking on File>Settings>Restore file associations.
Once you have done this, please close ActivInspire and relaunch, is the text toolbar still all the way across the top?
I hope this information helps, should you wish to get in touch directly with ourselves, I have created a support case to assist with this issue. Your reference number is 00427683.

Hi Alison,
Thanks for this information.
Is your projector turned on when you looked at the display settings?
Are you trying to mirror your Mac computer or use extended display?
What model of projector are you using? Could you provide the model number for this please.
If your trying to use extended display please try the below:
First click Apple->System Preferences, and choose Displays
The Display screen should appear. Now click Arrangement.
Click Detect Displays to allow your Mac to search for all the connected displays currently connected. The center window should show a graphic highlighting the currently detected displays.
You are free to drag a display to rearrange the images.
If you click the Mirror Displays checked box the left screen will be cloned to the right screen. Should this be unchecked, the display will extend to the right.
The steps above can be used to however many displays you have connected. In all cases, the displays will appear as icons in the window, and you can rearrange them as necessary.
I hope this information helps.

Hi Jeff.
Thanks for posting on the forum.
Please could you try the below steps in order to help fix the issue with the speed of the ActivTable account:
-Please log on to your Windows account
-Delete the settings.txt file in C:\Users\ActivTable or Username\AppData\Roaming\Promethean\ActivTable\ConfigTextFiles\Settings.txt
Please log back into your ActivTable account and see if this helps speed up the table.
Are you using a wireless connection to upgrade your table? If so, please use a wired connection and see if this helps.
The software for the Activtable has to be downloaded within the ActivTable account in order to download and upgrade.
If you are still experiencing issues, I have created a technical support case reference for you should you need to call us directly regarding this. If you do, please quote the reference number 00427687.
I hope this helps.

Hi James.
Is it possible for you to take a screenshot of ActivInspire showing the weird font?
If you change the font of the text to something else and then change back to the comic sans ms/comic sans bold does this help?
What version of Mac operating system are you using also?
I have created a Promethean Technical support case to help assist with this issue, should you wish to contact us directly please quote your reference number which is 00427690.

Hi Jorge.
Thanks for posting on the forum.
The projector requires the remote to power on and has no buttons on the projector itself.
If you have still misplaced your remote, you can purchase a replacement remote by contacting a Promethean Reseller.
A full list of Promethean Resellers can be found on the below link: www.prometheanworld.com/.../how-to-buy
I hope this information helps.

Hi Vickie.
Thanks for posting on the forum.
The devices that you have replaced batteries in, do they still have power and turn on?
What is the model number of the ActivExpression devices?
I would recommend resetting your ActivHub in the ActivManager control Panel and registering your devices again to see if they do not connect.
If you are still experiencing issues, I would recommend contacting Promethean Technical Support directly either by phone or filling in the contact form and quoting your reference number which I have created for yourself. The reference number is: 00427693
