Andrew,

Please ensure that you have selected a Centralized or Distributed Directory (depending on your setup) in the Network Discovery tab in the ActivEngage Server Control. (screenshot below)

Also ensure that your wired and wireless networks allow UDP traffic. A wired and wireless network can be on different switches and subnets. This can only be confirmed by speaking with your network administrator.

Bridget,

You may be receiving that message because your ActivBoard was not connected when you were attempting to install the Touch Pack. The Touch Pack software needs to detect a touch display during installation.

To better assist you, please contact Technical Support via the knowledge base at www.prometheankb.com, select Interactive Displays/ Contact Us, in the Existing case field input case number 209917. Please include the serial number of the ActivBoard which is located on the board itself. Also, provide the driver version you have, you may require an update.

Are you connected directly to the Activboard, using the standard USB cable that came with the board, or do you connect via a wall box? If connected via a wall box, try and bypass it and connect directly to the board.

Hi Josh,

Iif you are in the latest version of the software you can right click on top of the letter and choose the convert to text option.

Under the tools menu there is also handwriting recognition which you can select to turn it on.

Once you have run the repair on disk permissions and restart the computer, Uninstall all Promethean software, restart the computer again and install the software from the Support page on Planet, the link is below.

ActivManager is the Promethean icon, on your system try by the time, on Mac it is at the top near your Airport icon.

Hello,

It seems that the USB cable is not being detected by the board, this is why the flame won't light up and the touch and sound features won't function either. As Kylie suggested, please ensure that the USB cable to the board is connected securely and that your ActivDriver is up to date. We are currently at version 5.7.25.

It's too bad because Examview is a wonderful test generator (especially for math with it's dynamic content generation and graphs) .    You can export  Examview 4 tests to XML and then import to ActivInspire, but you cannot import Examview 6 tests into Examview 4!

This is not an issue we are aware of, you are correct it was an issue in a much earlier version of the software. It seems that the flipchart is corrupt. Please forward us the flipchart via the knowledge base so that we may look into this issue. Hello,

To answer your first question, a maximum of 500 Total devices can be registered to one hub. Having other devices registered to the Hub (like an ActivSlate) will count against the Total Maximum.

To answer your second question. Have you tried using the Named Voting mode from within Inspire? Though it is not exactly what you are describing the Named Voting Mode is very similar. A “student database” can be created within Inside Inspire or in an Excel “.CSV” file & then Imported into Inspire. The Database can then be separated into classes / groups for easier usage. Once the devices are registered & the Database has been created you can assign the names in the database / classes to the devices by inputting a Pin code on the device that correlates to a specific name in the list.

Additional details regarding this feature can be found in the help files within Inspire.

If this feature will not work for you or if you would like additional functionality please let us know and provide specifics which can be considered as a possible Enhancement Request to our developers.

Try clearing your cache, cookies and browsing history from your web browser, close out and reopen it and see if you still receive the error. You may also want to try another web browser if it keeps occurring. We will want to escalate this issue for you.

Kay,
To change the location of the video, click on the video (the marquee handles will appear) and move it where you want on the flipchart. The Multimedia option will show up in your Property Browser after you select the video, there is a screenshot below. If you do not want the video to begin once you have inserted it in the flipchart change the Autoplay to False. (case # 210430)

My student pens (light gray) quit working today during the middle of a spelling sort.  The dark gray pens continue to work.  Any suggestions?
